Fuel economy depends mainly on the traffic condition and driving style. On highway like from KL to Penang on a normal weekend, my 325 sports can get very low fc if I drive at 110 to 120kph (about 9+ liter/100km). On the other hand, go faster the consumption increases to 11 L per 100km. In city driving, a get about 12 to 13 liter per 100km.

9+ lit/100km is very good, peanut. :top: The best I've ever achieved is 10.8 going at regulation 110kmh on the KLIA highway.

The rare agressive driving on a twisty road has taken me up to +16 before. But my long term average is fine with me at 12 lit/100km. Very, very reasonable for a 2500cc/218hp car. :burnout:

I'm getting 14.8L/100km which is also about 450++ km on full tank around RM 110.00.

Hey man, whats your average speed with those readings? I'm getting 13.4L/100km with average speed ~35km/h. If my commute average speed drops to 27-28km/h, I get around 14.8L/100km as well.

BTW I'm back on my stock filter. When r we gonna test again hehe?

My average speed ~30km/h and is getting FC of 14.8L/100km.

Yeah, we need to do another round of test with yours in stock filter and if possible, load mine with your K&N. Let give each other a call when free.

Shucks! At average speeds of ~35 kmh, I'm doing 13.6 L/100 kms! I though my E92 would do better being lighter than you guys. Maybe, it's becos I'm the one who's heavier than you fellas, not the car.

Actually by full tank fuel consumption, we don't even need to calculate. Just press the OBC knob and just pick up the "km remaining" after tank is filled. That's my so called "km/tank".. :D

Of course, reading it together with the L/100km and the average speed will make the reading a lot more meaning full. By the way, both these readings can be reset and I don't reset these after every fill. Only don't once in the past 4 months. :D

My 320i is clocking about 38km/h and 11.3L/km. The L/km will fall below 11 when there's outstation trip. Otherwise, it will be at the low 11s. I have 8,500km on the odo now... long way to go for my next oil change..

I know astro :), but not everybody may look at it that way. That's why there's surprise that you can get 600km on a full tank while others get only 430++. My OBC can also show close to 600km remaining when I fill up but this drops more rapidly than the km actually travelled if I then drive more aggressively than just before filling up. Logically, km remaining must be calculated from most recent FC samples, not the long-term average, in order to give you a close forecast.

So using the lit/100km stat is more accurate, especially if you reset only the journey reading before doing a specific cycle like a highway drive or a home-office commute or a Goh Tong Jaya rip. You can measure the FC down to a particular route and speed.

Breaking news, the government has just announced that petrol price will go up by 78 sen at midnight - a 40.6 percent jump from RM1.92 per litre to RM2.70! So the issue of FC becomes much more important now...

More alarming will be when the price hit RM 4.00 per liter come this August!

So 63L tank x RM4 = RM252... RM1k for 4 tanks/month.. Darn! :( That's more money than my household food consumption for 6 pax !!!!

after reading this, i went to check the dashboard. it say 34km/h :p

does that mean in august, when pump full tank, it will be about rm250??

Now is RM2.70 x 63L = RM170.10 (Assume empty tank la!)

Before was RM1.92 x 63L = RM120.96 (Assume empty tank la!)

In August RM4 x 63L = RM252.00 (Assume empty tank la!)

To answer your question.. Yes!

So if one month use 4 tanks, then its RM1,000/month lor.. :(

aiyo..... on avg i fill every 6-7 days once. so its going to hurt...:(

btw, ur company increasing the miileage claims or not? i wanna propose for higher mileage..

What the going rate for mileage claim these days per km for KL workers? Anyone got a recent corresponding revision to the mileage claim after the fuel hike announcement?

Not to worry, paulpaul2 :) My 325i Sports long term average is around 12 lit/100km, in fact it's 11.8 lit right now after some highway driving. That's not heavy for a powerful 2.5l car.

Just make sure you run-in the car properly for the first 2000km, don't push pedal to the floor right away. Some people believe in hard running-in but don't take the risk, now that petrol is going up and up. BTW, you may notice 15 or 16 lit/100km FC in the first few days but that improves as the engine loosens up.

Enjoy your new car! :)
