the joy of seeing your ride being restored....PRICELESS

for everything else..........there's Mastercard/Visa or if can nego well, bayaran ansuran to the workshop

start with a budget and many forummers will guide u on what can be done

well, you can start by sharing with us, what is the state of the car? Then you can share with us, which path you want to take. There are many path to restore your E30.

PRIME is a very wide and also possibly expensive word.....

Due to your stated extensive rust.....I think a >RM6K body repair and repaint job is in order.

Some sifus advice to avoid RUSTY E30 like plaque but I guess if money no issue, go for it!

jules brought up a good point. it also depends on your budget, your time and your patience.

stay away from badly rusted vehicles...too tiresome....

start with a good foundation, starting with something sounding this shaky will inevitably ensure u can kiss ur hard earned money goodbye!

vmsdisc,

why don't we start off with:

1. how much "reserve" that you willing to spent?
2. what you want to use the machine for i.e. daily drive, drifting etc
3. till what stage you want to restore it, or are you going beyond that

gl

I think u better stay away from this car. You can find some fully rebuilt 1 only cost you about 15k-20k in d market, pay more less headaache!

5K to restore? I paid that amount for my brakes, suspension & interior restore.....not counting the rest yet. Add all and it goes double digits easy.

Not specific to BMW but playing cars in Malaysia is not exactly cheap...

Have fun and good luck.

5k wont even get you a decent body n paint job. I would suggest to stick to what you are driving now.

You are 100% wright Alvin. This guy must be jokeing to restore for 5k . If he se my bill to restore and yours to, sure cabut and run far far away.

bro... my E30 since i bought last year... i've spent on brakes, clutch, air-con, timing belt, springs, abs, new rubber for doors, cleaning up the interior seats & etc....blah blah.... already cost me > 8K and today i've just replace rear suspension bush and rubber already gone 1K.

all this is not yet inclusive my paint which will be next mth project will cost me easily another 3-5K... yet the bill is gonna be running !! :) I think ur 5K for restroration not enough maybe ur talking 5K USD probably BOLEH.... :)

bro, dont worry about the cost because believe me, you shall reach the RM5k mark faster than you think.. its okay, at least you know ur limit , maybe the 5k is your 1st phase - the important stuff first. then maybe the 2nd, and 3rd phase..

but, i would suggest that you buy one which has been properly done up, at least save you the headache..

Tks for the advice

I'm doing the same thing too...
Its true what he said...
Restoring a classic Ride Priceless...
Expect the unexpected...
Cause for me...
I'm not just restoring it to it's original Body Design...
I'm going to upgrade it to meet the speed and BHP of the modern day car...
Thus also this means upgrading the interior design with latest stuff...
Seats and a lot of stuff....
You'll understand and see how its like...

But i bet you're going to Love Doing It....
