I've recently been bitten by the e30 bug!! haha..happen to chance upon one going for RM28k. Unfortunately that's the lowest the owner will want to go. Specs/details are as follows:1. Year: 19912. Transmission: Manual3. Engine: M40 4. Full Mtech II bodykit - not sure original or ciplak. How do i check?5. Rear disc brake conversion6. 5-lug conversion - car currently running on a set of 16in impul rims, so i wonder if the owner mixed up the offset. Aren't nissan offsets different from the bimmers?7. Mileage: 200+k8. Seat and interior material is fabric. 9. Minor cracks on dash and door panel. 10. No modifications to engine or suspension. Is this a car worth the buy? I know that stock ones usually go for up to RM23k only. Appreciate any advise/comment.Thanks.

IMHO this is rather expensive but then again; willing seller, willing buyer.

The 5 lug conversion would have altered the original offset and there are some Jap rims that can fit.

Ori M-tech kits are made of polyurethene material(flexible), the ciplak ones are fibre and are rock hard.

+200k for a 1991 car is high and may be indicative of the wear n tear items are up for replacements. At this mileage you need to replace:

1) camshaft and lifters
2) timing belt and bearings
3) ALL suspension bushes and subframe bushes
4) All four absorbers
5) Ignition cables, ignition coil, distributor cap, ignition rotor
6) Longshaft centre bearing, differential mounting
7) Fan clutch, water pump and thermostat
8) ALL vacumm hoses and intake pipes and hoses(radiator too)
9) Clutch, pressure plate and clutch bearing

Dash and door panels are getting increasingly difficult to find for the e30, therefore are not as cheap as some might lead you to believe.

Take the car to a qualified mechanic and do a pre-purchase inspection. Look out for worn clutch, brakes, suspension components, gearbox and drivetrain components, etc.

If 28K wif full accessories is expensive, how about the E36 1992 with M40 engine for 40K?? :p Wonder wat is the different between 2 cars except the look :)

P/S: Don't shoot me, juz my opinion, i don't learn more about E36 :beaten:

Seems quite expensive to me unless the mechanicals and wear n tear are all in good/very good condition with no rusting at all.

Took the words right out of my mouth!!! :D

I owned 3 E30s before.
2 units 1991 318i manual CKD & a 1990 320i Auto CBU.
Seems like both the 318i had noisy rear diffs.
Also I realise all e30s has a cabin boom noise.
This was the only thing I din't like about e30.
Other then that, they are the best cars to own due to their bomb proof nature & maintenance.

28K can only be justified by the owner/buyer.

Oh, 320i Autos are real pigs..Slow & heavy on fuel.

Thanks mates for all the feedback. (and thanks brad for the welcome & invite). I totally agree with you guys about the price. I do feel that 28k is steep for that kind of mileage.

I've personally viewed the car and though nothing looks particularly wrong with it (only by visual inspection and test driving it for a 20min), i can't say that it looks mint either.

Guess i'll just have to shop around more. No hurry anyway coz its gonna be a pet project and not daily driven work horse.

personally though, i think it's better for you to get an e30 and use it as a daily driver. less things will go wrong. if you keep the car for one week without starting it and driving it, all sorts of glitches will occur.

i know......dont ask how
