BMW 1-Series Fuel ConsumptionCar Model: Car Year:Engine Type:Type of Fuel: Ron 92 / Ron98 (Brand if possible)Engine Oil:Tires:Diff Ratio:Any Fuel sapping add-ons: (Turbo, 20k Sound System, baby seat, etc)FC (Town): ltrs/100kmFC (Highway): ltrs/100kmFC (Combined): ltrs/100kmComments:pS: Don't put FC based on Rm/km as this is dependend on current fuel, lets make this useful for everyone, even the overseas ppl. :eek:k:

helloo have u all registered for AD...its just 2 weeks away

I own a current 2006 model BMW120i & my average highway fuel consumption is 6l/100klms. It's steptronic 6 speed manual/auto gearbox. Is this a good fuel consumption driven at an average speed of 100klms/hr.

6l/100km is good if it is a extra urban. Highway should be better as the engine is powerful and your gear ratio is good.

My colleague's 120 can achive 550km with RM90 of Petronas ..80% highway 20% urban

2005 120i
Highway driving - am getting about 13-14km/ltr (cruising ~130km/h to Cyberjaya)
City driving - am getting SHITE. about 7km/ltr (but this is usually when I'm in the evening Jln Tun Razak, stop-start jam)

Not much. Still the same as my previous post.

Drove down to Singapore once and almost made it back on one tank. Covered about 600kms before I had to refuel.

Car Model: 116i
Car Year: 2006
Engine Type: 1.6liter
Type of Fuel: Shell Super
Engine Oil: original from BMW
Tires: Goodyear
FC (Town): 11ltrs/100km
FC (Highway): 7.5ltrs/100km
FC (Combined): 9ltrs/100km
Comments: trying to improve FC by less acceleration

The tricks to FC improvement are:

1. Avoid harsh changing of traveling speed (hard braking / acceleration)..
2. Cruise with engine at ease. There should be a guage for u to monitor engine load, E36 has it. But it makes boring driving by staring at it. Like what Quickflyer said, turn it off and enjoy!
3. Do not under inflate your tyres
4. Do not buy a BMW.. :D Viva is the perfect car! This is I add one.. :D

My latest FC data, after 5 days of use... :p

I decided to try Shell's V Power racing, full tank at RM97.

I managed to get about 460km out of it, which was a surprise. And then I felt that the drive / acceleration was much smoother...

How do you convert l/km into mpg?

Easy, go to Google.com and key in "11.1l/100km to mpg", then press .

Viola!! u get this:

11.1 l/100km = 21.1905031 miles per gallon

BTW, is that good? My E90 is giving me same consumption.

Both in/out town, same.. :D I am a very balanced driver.. :D
