i do not know which Z model you pointing exactly so ill just say how it is with my Z.. 1) Softtop I cant say a thing about maintenance simply because i never had any, and i highly recommending to buy car with manual rather with automatic softtop. Electric motor cost is approx 10K if it dies, while manual cost nothing and i can put it back literally within 3 seconds, what automatic cant. 2) Softtop replacement Well..if you willing to invest in to that direction, you can always have both, instead of just one. As for daily use...why not..it can be used long as trunk volume doesn't impact your daily needs or number of seats impacting space you actually need for other people (family?). Other than that is just fine for daily use, and every engine installed in Z's is way over its limits, considering car weight so engine will roll just fine if not way way longer than other models. If you decide to use it as a daily vehicle, then think about making ground clearance a bit higher than it is by default. Malaysia bumpers are some nasty animals, or should i say, those who installed it, hate themselves and from afternoon they hate rest of the world. That's how i see 'designers' of malaysian roads bumpers :) . So, in case of daily use, increase ground clearance. That's all i can say at this point. I hope it helps.
