Guys,For those who are itching to have jump into competition karting....here's a new championship who is organised by Richard Lim. Aaron - his son and Malaysian National Kart Champion is a good friend and I am trying to assist him in giving some publicity to his event.Basically, this is ideal for anyone who wants to race seriously but dun not want to commit an upfront price for a kart setup. The race engine is hired to you - which ensures equality to every racer since they hire it as well and the engines are balloted before the race. You however need to get a chassis to race, which can be rented or purchased outright but this is not available from Richard on a big scale at the moment. In summary & point form, the event is :- promotes racing with the Yamaha KT100 engine, electric start.- engines will be on hire basis for all competitors- engines will be balloted, race and returned at the end of every race.- of course, all engines are stripped and rebuilt for the nest race, assuring you of equal performance.- the championship will a 6 round event for 2006.- classes will be Cadet, Junior & Seniors- chassis will be open, so any brand can be used but it's RBING YOUR OWN.- tyres are MRF ( latest compound )- events are run by KKS, so its a AAM sanctioned championship.- at the end of the champoinship, winners are given chance to got to Japan to race in the All Japan Toyota SL Cup Finals. Full board except 50% Flights provided. This is a move by Toyota Driver Program as their driver's search program.- As this championship aims to promote karting to begineers, anyone with previous race wins the last 2 years will not be eligible to race!- Also, the first 15 cadet drivers will rent the engines for FREE!! first come first served basis.Prices for engine rental for 1 day race, 1 day practice...- Senior RM950- Junior RM750- Cadet RM650Includes all maintenance prior to race as mentioned before. The event is made possible thru support of Yamaha Motor Co. thru Birel Pacific, KKS & RL Racing. The FIRST ROUND starts next weekend 12th March and if you want to see the response and action, please go to Elite Kart Track on SUNDAY. The race starts in the morning and will finish around 4pm or so...If you are keen to join....PM me as well and I will hook you up to Aaron/Richard.Cheers! :)
