I used to go into Trans failsafe prog with limited gear (4th gear) once or twice before. Immediately shut the engine for a few seconds and restarted. Everything went well after that. Last happened to me on the weekend, did the shutdown and restart and was OK. Was on my way to the mechanic to get scanned for faults on a GT1 and then the result shows "Gear Monitoring". I asked my mechanic and he said normally with this issue it means something is not right on the gearbox and the computer monitors something weird but did not say what. I have described to him some jerking when I floor the throttle pedal on 1st gear. He tested and it's more obvious now compared to few months ago. He suspected some balls in the gearbox are worn out and need replacing. Worst case is replacing a gearbox I guess.</blockquote>
