I actually have no idea what car yet :4: The other day I saw on autotrader, a MKV VW golf 1.4 FSI 2006 with all GTi trim, right down to the badge, rims, interior, stitching, seats. Onwer mentioned that he changed everything to be GTi'ish. Looks great but with good fuel economy. Only way to tell its a non GTi was to look at the engine. No touring yet. Don't need that extra space. Also cost of hiring a lorry to ship your furniture is still cheap, and very rare places you can find a carboot sale in malaysia. Another thing UK car famous for is half-cut cars. They can half cut anything here and people will not really know. Cannot bring half-cut back cause customs will just impound the car. buy cheap, running no. I have a friend who did not bother to ckaim back his car from the local council (after the council tarik the car for not paying parking ticket). He was slapped with a £200 fine. The actual fine was £10. Admin cost £190. The car was just £800 to start off with. He is now going to his 5th car. All other cars met premature death of some sort. Accident, repair cost more than the car, impounded etc. Just plain unlucky-but then he also ignored fines and does not have a UK license... I calculated that he lost about £3k from all that. In fact there are people/families giving up the car altogether. Only rent a car when they need to. Work, school commute public transport/walk/bike.
