Where to place jack

The e36 jack is different from other car jack since the jack point (?) is at the side of the car. My side skirt is hiding this hole.My question is if I use a normal jack (underneath the car) is there any special place to put the jack? Please advice me how to find the correct spot.Or should is it better to drill a hole through the side skirting?

I'm suspecting your ride on fiber sideskirts as if its the authentic one it will usually comes with side caps which you can pry open giving access to the factory side holes on each side of the car.

i face the same problem... i bought the normal jack, not the hidraulic one...just normal jack like proton car's jack. just put it anywhere inside the bonnet..not a big issue
