I have complained to my mech b4 saying that sometimes my idle is not smooth, something like the engine wanna die off. The he dismantles the ICV to clean it, the car felt better after that but now it comes back again. Dunno whats wrong also, maybe will have it checked again when i got the time to see them.
by the way, which year is your car manufactured? urs is e36 318? i read somewhere u mentioned that u have cruise control? gee....how come mine dont have. mine is manufactured in 1997

Its the throttle cable la.
Russie;221268 said:zoggee i think the one circled up in red is the ICV coz my mech dismantled that to clean it. Or could it be i too blur that nite and see wrongly? haha i dunno ler
absidian;221253 said:Don't mess with that throttle cable mounting, or it may need to calibrated back to neutral position.
Zoggee;221277 said:as for servicing it... Better dun. You think you know? At the early stage of owning your M43? Save the trouble and go to your workshop and let the mechs do the job la.
geoffreylee;221293 said:I saw the mec adjust that to increase the idle rpm.
absidian;221523 said:Indeed that is the short cut route to fixing your problem.
That's exactly the same as keeping your foot on the accelerator all the time.
If you're happy then thats ok but the mech should be shot. Twice.
