Wet Carpet (Passenger side) E46

Sifus, i noticed wet carpet on my Front passanger seat. any idea where can i get this fixed and where maybe the water coming from ?

Through my experience (not only with BMW) the point/cause of leak sometime are silly/simple.

1. Last 2 week, my friend Getz also leak on the passenger side. It leak only when it parked slanting to driver side. Trace it a few days, during rain and also using hose. At the end found out that thewater drips from speaker cable at passeneger door. A simple arrangement of the wire solve the problem.

2. My old E30 also leak on the passenger side before when heavy rain. Found out that it sip throu the wire from firewall into the cabin. Solved it by pasting those black thingy (alphalt base maybe)

3. My wife SLK. Leak on driver side. This one came from the windscreen rubber frame. It sip thro when it is really heavy rain. Not yet solve the problem. Need to take out the windscreen and reinstalled back.

It is just my experience. Hope it will help you. Good luck

Another possibility could be the door seals.

cld be from the aircond outlet pipe. Usually this is located under the front passenger dashboard. There should be a rubber hose going to the firewall. It could be blocked.

Not sure about the E46 but on the E36, you can pull out the hose and clean the hose. That should do the trick.

Is the leak near to the door or is it further away.......

i had the same problem, noted that it was the rubber lining on the door.....

To be honest i have not done mine, ha,ha,ha.....

mine only happens when i wash the car and water is directly sparayed need the door area....other than that when it rains ...not that bad yet.....

i actually read it on another thread on this forum, i think u just need to get the mechanic to put some sort of sealent for it..........

not sure where u live, but if around PJ u might wanna give M Laju a try.......
