Hi guys,M experiencing water in engine spark plug ports..especially now during thisrainy season in my E34 M50 single vanos engine. Symptom.. engine suddenly rocks like a boat instead of smooth bimmer purring, poor acceleration and high consumption. Remedy.. remove plug coil and dry the port/coils with cloth. Anyone experience this phenomenon?? Wud appreciate feedback on how water cud get into the ports?? Cheers

Oh..this make me worry liao..., just washed my engine compartment today...

But so far.., i have not encounter any the problem like you face before..

road runner..

have seen your mech yet ?

i believe that the water could be coming from the oil filter housing location when you move fast during rain. usually water is very hard to get into plug cap well.. only oil will get in there due to leak of the oil gasket..

regards.

Pussy,
So sorry..was away from PC.

No, have not been to any mech yet. Where exactly is the oil filter housing ?

My wild guess is that water could be splashing heavily under the engine carriage when there are lots of water on the road. Interestingly, my engine undercarriage has no cover..is that the culprit ? Can't remember whether there was one when I first bot the car 2 years ago..?

Regards

the original e34 under the engine has no cover. the oil filter housing is at the front on the engine on the west side.

judging from your comments, i suggest that u see your mech fast.

regards.
