Posting this on behalf of Breakpopin.Any recommendation on workshops with someone good with electrical works? His horn, fogs, brake lights and reverse light has gone haywire....Been to a few regular workshopsbut they are also scratching their heads... :(

serves him right to play around with his "wires".......hehehe..!!!

pity its not an E30....else, i can troubleshoot....

over to sifu jarance then.....

there is a shop that I took my sister's car when the car had electrical problems. Ah Foh if I am not mistaken, in Sunway. Ah Meng told me of this place. It's opposite the Bomba in Sunway.

Hmmm, how did Breakpopin screw up his electricals in such a way? Perhaps I can learn so as to avoid getting myself in such a situation...

maybe kingpin"screwed"him....? or izzit the other way round......hehehe

the mystery gets deeper.....

They charge by 'units' of work done, not necessarily hours. And even if they can have the skills to do it, they wouldn't touch your car unless you carry out a thorough Inspection II first. I doubt Breakpopin's car has an updated service history at AB for them to carry out work/service... :(

Oh yes, the mystery gets deeper when the "biarritz blue E36 328" shows up whenever im with kingpin... oh yeahhhhhhhhhh

So yeah, i checked with a workshop on the Horn problem. After some inspection and troubleshootin by the Mech, he concluded that there is current flowing to the fuse box even without me pressing the horn. (the current is only suppose to flow when the horn is pressed). This happened even when the horn wire connecting to the steering is taken off. Current flows right after i turn the ignition on. So its definitely some wiring problem accordin to him.

As for me fog lights, same thing, theres nothing wrong with me switch, bulbs, fogs, fuse, but there is just no current flowing there.

Ah meng(Mspeed) actually asked me to visit that guy in Subang (opposite the police station). I visited him before when i had problem starting my car and all he did was to add a relay to me car. Which worked during the 1st week, and then back to the engine not being able to start properly again. So yeah, i dont think he is as good as he is said to be.

Any other suggestion?

There's one in Tmn Sg Besi, near UK Best...

I went there once to sort out the aircon wiring problem for my Swift... Not sure if he's still there....

Jap cars may be simpler but the Contis are more complicated. Even when I installed my after-market alarm, the installer did not pull new cables... he used the existing cables... to be on the safe side. And also I cannot use any cipalak brand of alarm systems... forgot what my installer told me... must use those for conti cars i.e. I think only those systems with negative ground or something????

Finding or troubleshooting a electrical problem is a nightmare. There are so many wires going in and out of the car, that is is almost impossible to trouble shoot without a proper wiring diagram. All the carbles are multi colour coded. Even with hayes manual, I find that the information is lacking.

If there are voltage coming, best is to isolate the connection and pull new cables. your mechanic use current, this term is wrong. it should be voltage. The stray voltage can be isolated and rewired. To trace the shorting is just too tedious. If you are lucky, you might find it in 2 hours. if not lucky, you might not find it..

Best thing to do is to rewired with new cable.. BTW, the equipment that you mention are all hard wired and do not go to any electronic..

BTW check the earth connection under the driver side (under the steering column.) A loose earth would created all this problem at the same time.

Probably popo found a solution to his problem after visiting Zongee.....ekekek,,,

The ONLY reliable and trustworthy car electrician that I frequent for the last 20+ years is called Woon Auto Electrical. It's the 2nd last shop in that row where Kayu Nasi Kandar is, in SS2. My last visit there was when some cockamini aircon fellow cumpletely screw up my wiring. This Woon chap solved it in less than 10 minutes.
However, you'll have to wait very long for him to attend to your problem.

Another place to try (our club' parts & whshop database list shd b expanded to include these services] is a wireman whos parked his biz in Milan Motors, Tmn. Sg. Besi n goes by the name of Richard.
He drives an e30 n he's bin my regular electrical trouble shooter for the last 3 years. Go hava chat mit him.
