USB Drive Not Working

Hi there! I recently purchased the E90 323i (about 2 weeks now). I noticed that when I insert a thumb drive into the USB port in the glove box (at the arm rest), and when I try to import songs from the Thumb Drive, it states that there is no thumb drive inserted. But I noticed that the light on the Thumb Drive does flash. Has anyone faced this problem before? Any idea what the cause may be?Also, when I view the BMW Services, the screen for the i-drive doesn't give me any information. Is this normal for all E90's? Just enquiring.Thank You for your help. Much appreciated.

is your pendrive problem? try inserting another pendrive if it reads? or you have a bad USB jack under the armrest compartment not 'glove box'.

I have the same problem.... When I insert a thumb drive into the USB port in the glove box, the iDrive can read it and play songs from it but it cannot import songs into its hard drive. It says to insert the USB drive into the USB port in the glove box. I have not tried this as yet. I wonder if you want to import songs into your HD, then it has to be from the USB port in the glove box

hi there! When I insert the thumb drive into the USB drive under the armrest compartment, I am unable to read any songs stored in the Thumb drive. Is there another USB Drive in the glove box? I've tried using different thumb drives, but it doesn't work.

the usb port under the armrest only plays the song. to save song u have to insert your thumbdrive in the glove compartment usb. refer to manual, very clearly stated. the bmw service must be able to viewed in idrive.

bsoosay, you either have a faulty USB port or software settings problem. You should also be able to view a few BMW Service options in iDrive. Take your car back to the dealer to check. But before you do, check your manual first, to avoid the blushes if you've missed a step or something. :wink:

yes... there is another drive in the glove box. Look carefully and u will see it on the upper right hand side
