Hey am travelling to Singapore very often, just wondering if Singapore tyre is cheaper than in Malaysia? Can someone advise?TQVM!

Thought that with the xchange rate still cheaper in malaysia, what about Tax? few years ago did the same trick and got hauled up at the custom point for almost 6 hours. anyway good luck

for 19" staggered setup, the price i compared is like SG cheap by 1k compared to MY. (roughly)
e.g : Michelin PSS, Conti CSC5P and Goodyear F1 A2

I really would not do this unless you trust the shop and all the workers 100%. JB customs has reward system. I found this out the hard way.

definitely cheaper for run flats. You run the risk of getting caught. I have changed a few times in spore without problem

Mind sharing your 'watering hole' via PM?

My last RFT's were changed at Spore..save about RM2k overall..no big deal just scrap the old tyres and drive back with new one..what they can do?

i also changed many sets in SG. never kena and what they can do if i changed in SG?

If they purposely want to kena u, they have billion excuses, especially when the new tyre has the new color line.

Of course if they want too they can find thousand reasons..but normal cases i dont think they will do anything la..just like if we damaged our tyre while in spore, we have no choice then to replace the tyre there

Last time when i was in i mistakely fgt to remove baton from door pocket haha..got confiscated as its a weapon and away with a warning after some sweet talk..phew!

There were cases of ppl getting stopped and taxed at Malaysian custom for car audio and tyres bought and installed in Spore.
Some say it reported by rival workshops where you bought and installed the items or even that workshop itself.

The customs are authorised to do stop 'suspected' cars with tax not paid items. Sometimes it's random, sometimes targeted.
If u haven't been caught, can say it's lucky. But doesn't mean they can't do anything to u if you're caught.

If still get caught then might consider for mandi bunga session la hahaha..

Choose the right windows to enter back to Malaysia and chances are u'll get thru hassle free... Like after work on weekdays dressed in work clothes. ;)

Thanks for all the respond guys .... ok I usually start my driving back to KL by midnight .... less car ... no road block .... most of the CIQ officer half
sleeping .... hehe all the goodies :) OK, confirm! type is cheaper in Singaproe. But the way got few Singaporean Kaki mention that Malaysia RIM is
cheaper too !!

True, I went thru 2nd link on Monday early morning with working clothes. Passed thru without hassle :D

i used to change at a continental dealer which was located in a petrol station off bukit timah road... cant remember the exact road name !!darn !
But that was for my previous E90 that used continental run flats. Not sure for the F30 tyres though

i used to go to Leong Seng on Ubi Ave.. high end rim and tyres definitely cheaper in SG..
