throttler body problem

Dear sifus...need advice & helpYesterday morning my e46 320i having problem when start where sounds like motorboat and my EML and traction light pop up....when send to my workshop he told me my throttle body failure so ask me to change it to a second hand one about RM800. ..where for a new one cost about RM2k....and he told me the throttle cannot be serviced already. ...can anyone share and advice me....pls

wah so expensive for a halfcut TB? better go sourced it yourself. the idling is unstable?
if motorboat sound could be faulty plugs.

Hai DanzE90....thanks for idea and sharing....today when to the workshop and found out thah the throttle body ...the butterfly is not working well the rpm shoot 2000 and he told me he will service it....cross my fingger for this bro...thanks for yr sharing

Throttle body can be cleaned..who said it cant? Try taking it to a place where they can remove and clean the throttle body, cheapest option for now. if the symtoms reoccur after the cleaning then embark on sourcing a replacement throttle body.

You may ask your mechanic to remove the throttle body 4u and fill up with petrol shake it few time to drain out those dirt, it will save you some $$. If the problem still occur then only you change.

Yes bro the problem with the throttle motor. ..got for rm 680 from a friend...problem slove bro...thanks
