No doubt you will miss the silky engine of the inline 6 (gotta stump up for 535 if you really want a Q car)but i suppose for technology and petrol savings, one has to move with the times, especially in Msia. The 528 6 cylinder will not be as frugal at the petrol pump as the N20. Power delivery, given the turbo is linear and sufficiently rapid for a car this size. You wont miss the 6 cylinder in terms of power.N20 turbo beats old 6 cylinder! You might say that i am pleasantly surprised by the N20 engine, although friends still on 6 cylinders laugh and ask if its a diesel i'm driving. Plus its certainly more comfortable than the 3 series and its quite nimble(given its size comparatively, but the 3 still beats it due to the size and weight factor) once you get used to it. It's more of an executive sedan rather than an out and out boy racer like the 3 series.

Reliability of the N20 remains to be seen long term, but the present F10 is near its life cycle as the replacement is due 2016 and maybe in Msia by 2017. Also turbo may be issue later. Remember that having a 6 year old 6 cylinder 528 will have its own problems, given its age and the magnesium alloy engine. I remember my E90 325 had a period (about 6 year old)in which the seals had to be changed due to leaks (makan engine oil syndrome at one period), the rear suspension, and change of plastic radiator coolant tank leak due to our hot weather(recommended to replace about 70K i was told later by one mechanic). But other than that car was relatively trouble free, which i think you will know(I hope your 325 hasnt been giving problems). My 2 sen worth is if you really want the 6 cylinders(die hard 6 cylinder fan!) may be a bit more difficult to find one in mint condition. If not, buy newer and maybe still get BSRI ......(jatuh standard 4 cylinder cannot be BMW as my bro calls it!) . But I still miss the sound of a 6 cylinder....nostalgia.. LOL

[QUOTE="OH-CHIEN, post: 730320, member: 7588"] Anxious, Coming from an E90 325 to the present 528 Msport LCI N20 4 cylinder engine, the first thing that unnerves you is that the bloody engine sounds like a diesel! But once you get into the driving seat i doubt you will miss the good old 6 cylinder.
