The E46 - Need your advise.

Hi Everyone,I'm new to this but I have a keen eye on the E46. I am thinking to purchase a E46 within the next several months and I would greatly appreciate if anyone can help me understand this machine better 1) What do i need to look for when purchasing the E46 - eg - wear and tear on certain parts ?- in general 2) Engine wear and tear - approximate replacement cost ? 3) Gearbox cost - rebuild / replacement4) Which model to go for ? 318 / 325 / 3285) Which year should i look for ? 6) Recommended workshops ?Thanks guys in advance. Bro,

Its best not to know too much now otherwise you will never buy one. Read the maintenance thread will give you some idea.

Its important to know your budget (car price) and monthly commitments inclusive repairs and mods.

For maint. cost read the maint. thread.
Try to buy from direct owner, get the 6 cyclinder, if you can. Most important ask a mechanic to check 1st b4 u commit.
And also , check the service records.

Absorbers RM 860 all round Ori Bilstein B4 or cheaper Gabriel RM140 each rear
ATF RM20 per liter
Spark Plug Ori Denso RM18 each
Oil Filter Ori RM30 each
Brake Rotor BREMBO RM120 each
and many more

E46 is one of the cheapest model to own now

if you got yourself a 325/328 I have a pair of original BMW rear brake disc/rotor for sale and I give free Ori Brake fluid and JURID pads

Sure bro, we dont mind to help you check the car. Once you have shortlisted do bring it to Wearnes Autohaus @ Segambut to check. If owner or shop refuse just walk away from the deal as their are plenty of E46 ... Happy hunting
