Usually when i turned off the ingnition in a semi-enclosed area (like my front porch), I can smell the foul smelling exhaust residue - something like duck's farting.Previously did check with my workshop if my catalytic converter is choked, but they replied, semuanya ok! So, am wondering if any of you forumners have the same joy of experiencing certain species of poultry fart fragrance each time you get out of your UDM!?BTW, my ride is 1994 E36 325i with 113K on the odometer.

what your mileage ? and when the last time you change the catalytic ?

Mechanic : They are homosapien

You have a dead puss-- i mean, cat.

Mine still smells like a virgin...

The mileage is about 113,000KM.

Never change the catalytic converter b4. How much would it cost?

3er, have u go the same problem also? And does your mechanic know how to remove the dead puss ? How much is the charge for removing and finding a proper burial for the poor thing? Got package price, ar?

Thanx!

I think 3er just means that you have a smelly c*nt of a car.

This is, honestly, an interesting problem. I do hope you'll find some assistance here, cos I sure as hell have no idea why you'd have stinky exhaust fumes!

I think i know what keelow means. It happens on my classics. Turn off ignition, it does a little "dance", sputters, then only dies... leaving a funny smell.

I hear people say it's usually associated to bad mixture of air/fuel.

Thanks to all for the replies.

BTW, any of you change the catalytic converter b4? How long b4 it needs to be replaced....and how much?

This is the correct answer. Nothing to worry about. Simply means that there has been a build up of H2S which has been blown out with the exhaust. Take the car out for a long high speed drive to clear the remainder.
