I have change my steering coupling(used) after i found there is slight freeplay on my steering wheel. After a few weeks of driving then came the tuk, tuk, noise when I turn the steering wheel.Since I got the used coupling from my mechanic, he oblidge by changing another used coupling. It lasted a month and the noise is here again. I ask whether if I change to a new unit(RM800.00) will the sound still be there after sometime? He say he can't guarantee. So, can anyone here enlighten me on my problem?cheers

hi machinehead,

i had the same thing too. was told to change the steerign coupling but ended changeing the steerign housing n rack instead...

Try checkin yr steerin rack cox if there;s any minor fault, u can opt for the repair kit, no need to change the whole thing..

turned out to be my steering housing also rosak, so changed also..

refer here for the repairs i've done... http://www.bmwclubmalaysia.com/forums/inde...topic=51&st=420
