.....few days back my brake pads light showed
so i changed the pads..but the light still there..
how to remove the annoying light?
The brake lights can be low fluid or handbrake on, make sure ur car is not sharing the same indicators.
Now if its really the pad, then u need to look for the pad sensor and see which one is "used" to trigger the indicator. I had an E36 and hope its the same with ur ride..
The way the sensor work is the sensor itself is a ceramic or glass capsule with lots of wires inside. The moment the pad is low, the disc rotor will brake the capsule allowing the wires to stick out and touch the brake rotor which happens to be grounded as -ve to complete the sensor circuit to lit the indicator.
Once this happen, u can't just replace the pad. The broken sensor needs to be replaced too. The workshop should be able to advice u mah?! otherwise the sticking wires on the sensors will continue to lit the indicator what !?
This is the E36 sensor:
This is the E46 sensor, looks like the same:
The curve section will break due to friction form the rotor when the pad is too thin.
I always check my pad and doesn't allow this to happen. I will replace the pad when its about to hit my sensor, so I save on the sensor..
