Hi everyone,Need urgent help! My car E46 (318i_N42_SED Version EUR_RHD - 2002 model, Japan Spec) currently stuck in a workshop (will tell the whole story later when this is solved) can't start the engine. What happened is - have just replaced the Valtronic box and is doing the DME programing update. Half way through the programming, an error message appear - "data communication interrupted" or Data transmission disturbed, Ignition? Battery empty? Plug in connections? Switch off electrical loads is displayed. The mechanic not sure what causes it and doing try and error stuff i.e. change the battery, the gear ECU, the air con panel, stereo panel etc... The only thing that I have done before this is installing the Captor Tracking system (whole package - alarm, immobilizer and tracking). Not sure whether this cause the problem. The last option will be to dismantle the Captor.Hence, would like to ask anyone who know any reputable mechanic that have done this before to send me their mobile number - would like to get a second opinion. I will be at the workshop first thing in the morning tomorrow (Monday) and can be contacted at 012-3661984.Thanks in advance.

If during programm upload, there is an error, then your DME is not fully program.
Usually in program update, the existing program have to be "erased" in order to make room for the new program to be slotted in.

BTW, is your uploader fully compatible with your car DME. Some of the older uploader or software are not compatible with newer DME.

If the uploader is fully compactible, better to redo the uploading again. make sure that there is no loose connection between the laptop and the communication plug.
