The car shouldn't be shifting down to M1 at from 3rd or 4th gear.... Ok lets say you're driving down the road and you shift to DS mode (most likely 3rd or 4th at medium sane speed)....DS doesn't really change down unless necessary within the algorithm. You shift to '-' to engage M (manual mode) and your display should flash M2. If you had shifted to '+' to engage M (manual mode), your display should flash M4. As far as I know, the step doesn't engage M1, right out of the box like that...besides M1 should only be used briefly at take off or at very tight auto-x corners...</blockquote>
