Another thing you might wanna try is to check on the centre bearing that holds the long shaft. Try to get a second opinion from another shop. I am sure there are many other reputable shops around klang valley that the other members can recommend.  As far as rims are concerned, I seriously doubt thats the problem as you mentioned you went back to stock rims and still have vibrations.  FYI, brand new long shaft for E36, import direct from Germany, with a waiting period of 2 months, costs about RM3K.  I am guessing that it's gonna be about the same cost for E46 as well.
