Hi guys, selamat hari raya.I had an unfortunate event last night. While stopping by for dinner at Restoran Jejantas Sg Buloh, my front passenger's side window was smashed by a f*****g thug. :mad:Luckily, one Rela staff saw it and screamed his lung out that forced the bugger to cabut. He managed to flew away with my RM300 China-made dual-sim card cellphone though. But the side window....:banghead:Kindly request you guys advice of how much it'll cost me to replace it and whereabout. An E39 523, 97 model. There goes my open house budget..:dong:Thanks in advance

I had same experience 4 days before Raya on my e92 M3, parked at the roadside for about 15 mins. The passenger side was smashed. Two guys on motorbike did that. They managed to take my bag which have about RM 5.00 only in the bag. They must be cursing me cause not much in the bag.

Cost me RM 500+ for the glass and RM 200 for installation done at Seong Hoe.

I've changed the tinted on my car to WinGuard. Supposed to be shatterproof.
 
I have developed the habit of not leaving anything that may attract them in any way within view in the cabin.

Even coins and especially smart tags are attractive.

A friend had his side window smashed and the thug got away with a bag containing useless things that he was going to throw away which he placed in the back seat.

I myself lost my birthday present and a smashed side window when the missus left the package on the floor of the pax seat. The thief masked the sound of the breakage when they revved their bike loudly. The car was even within our view.

But I sympathize with you.

Try the choshops bro or any ketuk shop should be able to source it for you.
 
Wah! My Avanza winscreen only RM400 le. E39 side window so expensive me? some more need to find chop shop.. :eek:

My Avanza also kena 2 deep scratch on left rear door, parked at Menglembu town roadside for a quick lunch during Raya.. lucky only one door kena. *&^%$#@!!

Guys, thanks for the advice. You guys indeed true friends. Unfortunately, i was hit by another snag(s).

While I was on my way to Kajang looking for certain chop shop, my car was overheating exactly after I entered the highway exiting Nilai toll booth. Stopped over immediately and noticed that the water pump was giving some funny sound. Car was towed to Seremban later, noticed few rust once the oil cap was removed. That means it happened for few days if not weeks already. Hopefully nothings broken there.

But I'm still smiling coz I still have my wife and kids.. One thing though, I'm gonna fix those car's tinting stuff.

i thought BMW window will shatter only when smash but will be hard to access the cabin ?

its time like this i am soo disappointed with our country ,
1. High Tax on car import to support kereta keranda
2. Bad Police and crime getting worst, where else where the cops are scare of robber Only In malaysia truly asia.
3. Petrol price increase yet we are oil producing nation.

bro, sorry to hear that thanks goodness you are ok, i know the trauma when my e60 was stolen when thief broke in to my house

Yupp, but his guy is pretty clever. He kopek it at the window frame panel using hard steel object that caused the window to shatter. My lack of tint-film does not help either. Easily accessible once it is done.

Whoa, that makes my issue seems very petty. I asked a friend of mine who is an AP car dealer recently if we can get rid of that stupid 300% tax. He said it won't affect them at all coz 300% tax need to be passed to the bloody G from the sold item. So whether the car is 20K/200K/2milK, he'll still get the same income.

Imagine a brand new E60 525 with a price tag of +-RM150K..

The owner of the workshop who repaired my car insisted to buy it instead. And this MORON sold it! 2 BMWs bought and sold in a year span! Aiyoyo... (though I made little profit actually.. hehe)

Now back to hunting my dream UDM (actually found it already in my former E39, so stupid lah). Test drove an E32 recently, impressive!

It's like one of the porn movies, 'Once you go black you'll never turn back'. Hahaha
