good day for those travelling along the NORTH south higway pls take note that the SMART TAG reload counter operates from 9 am ~ 4pm ....siggghhhh so for those with lower credit pls beware of this as you may end up in a crawl for hours at times just to pick a ticket from the booth ..this really suckssss .... i've called up the toll free number and made a complain on this matter..pls refer my scenario as below as a daily traveller heading to south via SG besi toll and exitting BANGI ...at times when my credit is low ,i just drive up to the reload counter which usually starts from 8 am till late 8 pm ....but now since i usually reach at the toll earlier than 9 , i can't reload if my credit is low ....as the booth only open at 9 am ... then after work the other available booth to reload would be the KAJANG toll ...but siggghhh work ends at 6 pm and the reload booth closes at 4 pm ...darmmmm so when i made the complaint this is what i got ME : encik what wrong with the reload counter opens late and closes early PLUS : this is our new operation time as the reload counter causes heavy jam at the toll gates ...ME : are you sure ...but most of the time i see that there is more traffic at the ticket booth rather that SMARTAG's and T&G lane PLUS : yes we are sure .... there are several area or petrol kisok where you can drop by to reload sir ...ME : eerrrr sure or not as the last i drop at the B.P kiosk just after the sg besi toll to reload , they told me the machine is facing some technical glitch ...PLUS : you can also re-load at any of the ATMS ME : ya right but the min is RM 50 ... what happen if my smart tag is being stolen ? can you refund me the balance available PLUS : NO sir ... ME : do you know the difficulities i'm facing case i need to reload at the ATM , 1st i need to find a space to park my car , 2nd is i need to bring along my laptop too and 3rd these days no place is safe as i may be mugged ..PLUS : like that than you must reload more larrrr ...ME : but case of my tag is stolen you can't even refund me the available sum there PLUS : like that ahh sir , what's your sugestion ?ME : go back to the same opeartion time larrrrr ....stupid .... we are customers and what's the point of having a smarttag and can't really reload when i need it ...PLUS : ok we will look into this matterBUT UNTIL TODAY it's still been the sameSo those travelling pls take note .....

Really? 9am to 4pm only? Then this is very incovenient for many of us here. Sigh... hope that they will go back to the normal operating hours.

Sorry to tumpang your thread, but today I had another experience at the toll plaza. Was heading back to KL from Semenyih passing by Batu 9 Cheras toll. As my Smart Tag was low on battery, I thought of giving it a try at the Smart Tag lane. Once my car reached the lane, it could not sense the credit in Smart Tag, so there was a Touch N' Go device at the same lane, I touched the card but it did not work also. Then I resorted to pressing the Intercom button and a lady came over. First thing she said was "reverse, reverse" then I told her why Touch N' Go couldn't be used, she asked me "where's the Smart Tag" and I told her "low on battery". And you know what? She had to activate the Touch N' Go device then only the thing worked, but she also gave me a very "not happy" face.

Was it totally my fault? Hmmm...

You must have disturbed her 10093494918th tea break of the day that's why she's angry.

I've been given the "not happy" look so many times I just shrug it off now. In Malaysia the consumers are the ones serving, not the other way round :p.

yeah man, i was caught the last time when i was low on credit because of the stupid operating time.

A bit malu when I was short of 20 cents when I cross the gate. Have to pay 20 cent there and then.

Also could not top up during the time I use the road. I found out that I could top up at BP station Bandar Batru Klang.
They charge 50 cent for each top up.

So you now know why they cut the operating hours. They want other agent to make some money for installing their machine.

So where are the other place that we can top up. 7-eleven have or not?

this is really inconvenient. in singapore they have a card similar to the touch n go, can't remember what its called tho' but you can use it for the mrt, bus transport...etc. to reload they can always do it at 7-11....very convenient.

if i'm not mistaken, previously there were open from 7am to 7pm...those were the good ol days. now i stop reloading my touch n go at the official counters instead go to the ATM or petrol station where they charge RM0.50/RM150 which isn't too bad...just wish they could accept credit card payment to reload...something that will never happen

talking about auto reload and so on ....i've got a freind that went through hell about this auto reload thinggy ...

he lost his card and did a cancellation and to find out later that the CC card company auto reloaded again even knowing that they have a report of missing item....

and they told him , it would take some time to reimburse back the amount ...as this involved T&G management side ...sigghhhhh lastly they told him that the card is still active !!!!

ahhh still active ....but i've reported missing .... T&G replied u must instruct your bank to stop the auto reload as this card can still be used till the person "unknown " achive ZERO credit in the card ....sigghhhhh

too many ding dongs

Guys you also can reload at Petronas station 24 hours.

most of the time out of service ... same goes for BHP and so on ...i think they just want you to walk in so that you may grab yourself some refreshments / ciggy and so on

never seem to have that problem at my neighbourhood station. Sometimes I just top up at the ATM.

And they charge you RM2 for every reload....

We used to be able to reload our Touch&Go at SELECTED petrol stations (talking about convenience, heh?) free of charge. Look what happens now? We are made to pay RM0.50 for every reload and each reload is limited to only RM200. If we want to reload more than that, they have to do it twice and thus we have to pay RM1.00 (RM0.50 x 2). I think this is daylight robbery. If one operator is to be given exclusivity/monopoly to operate the touch&go facility, then there should be a condition imposed to that privileged company to ensure the users are not burdened with all these inconvenience that we are faced with like the changing of reload timing, the limited number of outlets that the reload facilities are available and WORKING, etc.

So many charges associated with the use of Touch'N'Go. Even using it in shopping center car parks I get charged extra like 10 cents I think.

It's funny sometimes how things work in Malaysia. You would like to think that an establishment would make it convenient for you so that you would prefer to spend your hard earned money there but instead they charge you even more at the end of the day.

And after reading c-square's post I now only realized I'm charged RM0.50 each time I reload at Maybank ATMs LOL! Good stuff.

In some countries (not sure of now though), you are given discounts for using such cards...

Unfortunately we don't fall under the "some country" category lol.

But yeah, it does make sense to encourage consumers to use such cards. Sense which seems lacking in a lot of businesses here in Malaysia, or maybe there's a hidden agenda to it :p.

It is 10%. So if you go to shopping complex with expensive parking rates like BSC, you will definitely be paying more than 50 cents.

But to me that is okie because you still have a choice to pay through the AUTOPAY machines. As for this Touch N GO reloading thingy, it is very unfair to the customers.

Cheers
