Engine oil will settle at the bottom of the oil sump. leaving the upper part of the engine, cam shaft, all bearings, rubber seals and gearbox with little lubrication and may dry up if long enuf. It will wear the component when start, before oil can reach the components.2. Mineral oil will harden or turn into sludge if not heated for a long period, thus loosing protective substance and oil become thick and not efficient. It will be like cholesterol blocking the oil lines and cut down on cooling efficiency and lubrication effort. 3. Rubber seals if not heated for long, will be harden. Reheating it will cause it to expand and crack. Just like tyres.4. As for non-engine components mechanical or electrical sensors, the same thing applies. Just like our bicycle, use it every day, its just wear and tear. Park there for long, the chain also dry and hard to cycle. Oil it or give it a few knocks and it should be fine. Our rear electric window is the same, too long never use, it will stop working, give it a few knocks or release the power window rail and the motor will start to turn again. Workshop will take opportunity and capitalise on this and ask owner to replace motor.I have seen E30 park long enuf until the clutch is stuck to the flywheel and won't release until having the gearbox dismantled and pry the clutch off from the flywheel or something. I believe it was 2 weeks of parking in open air expose to both rain and sun.U be the judge on how much harm the above can bring to your car compare to wear and tear of driving it.
