Wskm Mubn,
01. 318i is always a good entry level into BMW as you will get to experience the brand gradualy and know the kinks of ownership. In fact, I started with this exact engine and learned much from it.
02. ALWAYS insist for a FULL INSPECTION before and purchase!
03. ALWAYS insist for a FULL INSPECTION before and purchase!
04. ALWAYS insist for a FULL INSPECTION before and purchase!
05. Remember 02, 03 and 04 AND DO IT!!!
06. If there are major issues found during inspection, WALK AWAY AND NEVER LOOK BACK
07. For small repairs, insist that the dealer pays for it and OBTAIN at least 6 months warranty IN WRITTING!
08. There should be 4 sets of keys, 2 sets with the proper fob, 1 set for valet, 1 set flat plastic emergency key that you place in your wallet [GET THEM ALL! or you may wake up in the morning and find your beloved ride is not to be seen again]
09. The car in the picture looks pretty clean, stock and in a good nick [it may have lost the '3' in the 318i badge]. Then again remember 02, 03 and 04!
10. Note down the Vehicle Identification Number [VIN] and cross reference to this site:
http://www.realoem.com/bmw/select.do enter the last 7 digits of your VIN in the 'Serial Number' field and click on 'Search'. This should give you and indication of your ride 'per factory specs'.
