On the contrary, I am seriously considering removing the spare wheels from my other cars to reduce weight, improve pickup and fuel efficiency, which of course environmental friendly.. because I seriously never use my spare tyre since the day tubeless tyre is commercialised. Don't understand why so many still can't sleep without it. All punctures I suffered over the years (avg. 3 times a year) are all taking more than 2 weeks to completely flat, during which I would have spotted them in my daily visual inspection and get it fixed in a day or 2... My only worry is the removal of the spare wheel upsets the balance of the car.. :( What BMW did by introducing RFT is an automobile innovation landmark, first in the industry.. since 2005, 4 years now yet no one dare to even follow .. with the brilliant use of DSC component as a run flat indicator, gives the owner ample time to "rescue" a punctured tubeless tyre the moment it start to deflate. No spare, no liquid sealant injection, no jack, no hassle. Leave it to the technology.. BMW rocks ! One of the landmark invention before RFT:
