I know some who uodate their software from time to time its basically like updating the software for iphone so that everything is smoother & faster. My purpose was to have the Aux In feature in my iDrive so software upgrade was a must for me that time.But like i said.. No guarantee that they aren't going to fry your CCC! It's a risk that you have to take.
