Retrofit Navi vs Garmin 53

My car was local spec, with 6.6 inches screen and idrive-loRetrofir Navi - looks good but >20k far beyond budget for navi purposeGarmin Solution - Thule, need your advise here, i was told total budget below 5k, the thing is, when we do gps navi, can we still listen to music? the voice navi guide using car speaker or seperate speaker (like Garmin Nuvi) ?Expert brother here, mind to share your experience here? I am Garmin Nuvi 205 user for long time as i knew can always get new maps almost twice a month from mallfreemap, how does this garmin 53 compare to nuvi?

You can still listen to music while on GPS... I think they use the same car speaker. Garmin nuvi is external unit compared to Garmin gvn53 which is modular that is integrated into your iDrive. Like the nuvi, you can also update your map thru malfreemap.com :top:

I was in CV Audio yesterday but unfortunately they are running out of stock for both gvn53 and the korean interface, any other shop that brothers here can give so i can get more detail and price comparison?

Went to C* Audio accessory shop and get quoted as below
Garmin GVN53 RM2500
Korean made video interface = RM2400 (3 input)
total RM4900 discount 100 = RM4800, option to purchase real camera with additional RM780

My friend told me he bought the korean interface (3input too with real camera) at RM1400, and i saw from lawyat that Garmin dealer are selling the GVN53 at RM1850, if i were to buy these item seperately, how much will the installation charges will be? Advise will be much appreciated..

wah korean made video interface costs rm2400!?!? like that better get the original ACM from BMW also costs about there...the korean interface is selling for like USD200++ in korea...

yes, definitely some 'cutthroat', maybe due to installation charges..

i got the price from my best friend who bought from korea before, interface US$220, real camera US$100, air shipment charges us$70, still waiting for price of BMW 5 Series Touch Screen

Before I decide to buy this touch screen, as my screen is the old lcd 6", need advise here from you all, the LCD, is it just can simply swap or do i need to change my OBC?

I am worry about the installation labour charges too if i were to buy these and ask someone to install for me, dont know it will be a bomb or not

BMW 5 Series Touch Screen

BMW touch style monitor method of new concept that changing interface concept that is existent outside device connection method newly.

No more using low resolution OEM monitor.

We were developed so that can use AV product that is circulated mostly for customer's desire repletion. Also, minimize that image noise and voice noise.

Because between interface and monitor and outside device is not existed and we developed as can select installation availability of outside device using OSD by user.

(LCD panel can be changed according to manufacturing company development process.)
