The plastic piece can be removed to work on, it is only held down with clips.You can't just rewire the the side mirror switch to get it to drive the sunblind. Modifications would be necessary. The joystick is just a switch which is connected to a module then connected to the wing mirrors. For your problem you'll need a h-bridge, either solid state or mechanical and in addition to that a circuit to detect if the motor is draining too much current to stop it.. Any kind of switch is doable but modification would be necessary.</blockquote>
