Hi guys,My bro just bought a 2004 e53. The car jerks forward when it comes to a stop. The mechanic says that I need to replace the solenoid valve. He quoted me RM4k, which I thought was a bit expensive as it doesn't involve removing the gearbox. Can anyone recommend me a specialist which can do it for a lower price?

Has it been confirmed that its the solenoid? Maybe hooking up to a scanner and check what could be the fault first?

go try a different mechanic, maybe you will find the real problem.

but to me, sounds like oil level low in the gearbox. But with the latest tech in BMW technology, who knows what's the problem till you scan it.

the atf has already been replaced. According to my mechanic there are no gearbox related errors. he has tried resetting the adaptive values, and he ask my bro to drive the car for a couple of days, but the problem still persists. he is recommending me to go to M-Scope, as they have all the proper equipment. I will probably get a second opinion. I have came across a thread in the e46 sub-forum, and someone there has done it for only RM1k. Is the price really that different for a x5?
