I plan to drive down to Singapore to visit some friends soon. I got this shop from the SG BMW club site. - BVO AUTO. Question : is it cheaper than doing it here?Hello, I have an E46 318i (yr 2003). Can you please give me the quotation for works the following: 1. Replace both rear absorbers. 2. Replacing both rear and front brake pads. And also what are your opening hours? thank you. Reply:Hi Rizal, Rear shock absorber 1pc - $90.00Front brake pads - $100Rear brake pads -$90 Labour charges - $110 Opening hours from 9am -6pm Regards,Bernard

why dun you go buy the parts from eng soon and bring it back to do? I see dat the replacements do not require bmw specific mechanics.

labour in sg is expensive. think rm->sgd. the workshops there also make some margin from the parts, 5-10%. GST applies oso to the bill for labour.

Yup, totally agree with ah lian. Buy the stuffs that you need from S'pore and bring it back to M'sia and get them fixed. Labor charges are expensive over there.

BTW, the price quoted are slightly on the high side, I think. I might be wrong...

no niid lor. just put a small box in your boot. fill it with jumper cables, jacks and other emergency stuff. when you buy the parts, discard the packaging and just chuck it underneath those emergency box. when asked, say dunno lor. must have been there since last service and forgot to take out lor. :p

BVO used to be my regular mechanic. they're pretty expensive but responsible. one of the guys there is from kedah.

i no longer go to them due to the high costs they charge. you can get parets cheap from PML singapore. they're quite cheap!

fake. not oem but they're not honest. i used to buy from engsoon but not anymore.

i go to goldenlink from then on and it's a lot better in pricing and service. they're flexible too.

EXACTLY my sentiment. there is this male cocky guy sitting next to the main shop and he told me he will have to charge me 3% more if i use creditcard for trasactions below 50 bucks. so, i said to myself "he can %*&^(*^(*@#". then he sold me FAKE items that he passed out as oem.

goldenlink? even if i buy $10 he will ask me if i pay creditcard or cash? and i can change items easily and freely without having to explain more!!! now that's customer-centric service.
