I am just sharing my experience so other beemers willl take caution.Date: 26 August 2010Time: 11.00pmLocation: Jalan Jelatek toward Wangsa Maju near Duke intersectionReckless Driver Car:Bmw E46Color: BlackRegistration: WMB 7800I am traveling on the right lane at moderate speed with wife & my two kids. Front and left car traveling at almost same speed as we just depart from setiawangsa intersection green light. Reach the Duke's intersection, suddenly this Black E46 registration number WMB 7800 cut me from the left at very high speed. I slammed my brake twice. My wife suffered a bruise on her head due to the impact. (Slammed her head to the pillar since wearing seatbelt). Left me multiple scratches on the left fender. I tried to give a chase, and as I approached the traffic light, it turn green and this reckless driver speed away.Hope that other beemers can take really caution if you see this car. What a shame to other beemers.

1st sorry to hear about the mishap towards ya loved one and ya ride ...

sometimes it's better to look at ther rear mirror for such a fast car approaching towards you ...many fail to watch the rear mirror at times and you cannot judge ya speed based on the car next to you ...ya left car is travelling at the same speed as yours doesn't mean that you too need to follow his speed ..

right lanes are meant to be used for ppl who wants to overtake ( fast speed ka , emergency ka or others )
therefore if you want to use the right lane, make sure you're up to the speed and always keep ya eyes at the rear mirror ...

he overtook you from the left as you did not give him any choice to do so ...unless you had already ON YA SIGNAL LIGHT INDICATING WANTING TO TURN LEFT ....just because they drive a BMW they think they rule the road i guess

so it;s better to have a safe driving habit and keep ya car at the middle lane to be safe ...

it;s not a shame to other beemer drives as i've seen many bigger e60's with wanna be ///M logo at the rear hogging on the right fast lane doing 90 km/h at 110 km/h ....

just me ..

Hope your family members have healed bro. Really such a reckless driver. :stupid:

Totally agree with you but lane hogging is no reason to resort to road rage. Leaving another person's car with scratches and the person with injuries cannot be justified with the reason "he was lane hogging."

Let's all pray for God to give us infinite patience on the road, especially this festive season with its jams and last minute rushes.

Be safe, Drive Safe, and remember slow and late is always better than never arriving.

Salut

yep we only hearing from one party here ...not sure what's the story at the other side ...

but then something to think about : causing scratches while overtaking is almost rubiing one to another ...and don't you think the other drive notice of what happen ... if me i'll sure stop ....macam tak logic bro if the person keeps on driving away ...cuz most of beemer owner are the fussy type ..even a single scratch also cannot tahan one ...:)

Bro, I would say that there's a fine line between driving fast and driving recklessly. I would believe you're a spirited driver, but always aware of not causing trouble to other users. :top:

Cutting in from the left dangerously is definately WRONG. It frustrating when you're in a hurry and gunning down the fast lane and the car in front of you is going according to the speed limit, but still, it doesnt give you the right to endanger others by wrecklessly overtaking from the left.

If such situations happen to me, i usually flash my headlights a couple of times and if the car infront is still ignorant, will HONK till he moves to the side. If that doesn't work, then only will overtake from the left, but make sure I give the driver a stare before I speed off, never do I overtake and cut in dangerously.

Different people have different style of driving, some called it reckless, and some called it fast, or sometime we called it "lan si". But no matter waht happened, be cool and calm. Especially when bad thing happened...

My thou is, drive to police station and report. If you managed to catch and make him stop, what you gonna do ? Scold or beat him ?..... i guess it is better let the polis handle it.

Different people, different style, but does that gives you the right to endanger other lives on the public street. being able to control your emotions when such situation happens? It wont matter if a report is made, police wont bother with such reports as they will just consider it a common fender bender.

Im just taking my small myvi for a quick ride that night.. that maybe the reason my car dont "deserve" the right lane.. actually about less than 1 meter space between me and the car in front.. that the reason i need to slammed my brake to avoid collision and make a space for this fella.. Well, i managed to polish off the scratches.. Need to practice to view rear mirror more often so that this kind of driver can rules the road..

Bro

Are u sure u got the Reg No and the colour rite..... I am positive that its WMN 7800 (E46 / Dark Blue). I was travelling along Jalan Jelatek towards Wangsa Maju at abt 1.30 am this morning when i glance at my rear mirror and notice a highspeed car overtaking ppl in a zig zag manner. At first I thought it's one of those Kancil Speedster. I was comming to a stop when this guy slip into the lane infront of me and came to a stop. #@*&!^% he misses me by inches. Yup its WMN 7800, E46 Dark Blue. Suddenly I remembered reading the forun abt this pinhead in Jalan Jelatek. Quite a small build guy with short hair.
There was a few cars in front of him at the Traffic lights. When the lights turn green, he slip to the right lane and to the left again then to the right again. But the car on the right lane in front of him was slow and by then I manage to level with him and kinda block him by travelling the same speed as the car in front of him. I think he is piss off. Anyway I slowed down and let him pass. He then ram the car speeding off in a zig zag manner again. He is probably staying at Taman melati/Melawati.

At night dark blue looks like black. Just like mine. Since all the incidents happened at night or early morning, the guy could be high or drunk or taken over by the Drift Spirit from Mt Akina.

Why worry about these reckless drivers? Be alert when driving, learn and practice defensive driving, never put yourself in a vulnerable position by avoiding them. Most Important -->USE COMMON SENSE. Teach your teenage kid to do the same. These drivers are heading for their own funeral and you do not want to mess with them.

I'm sure all will have their own story to tell.

Remember to keep left when not over taking.. many road users just forgot the golden rule of road use and that's "Ikut kiri jika tidak memotong"

I'm one of those who got fed up with common attitude of, "Hey! I'm traveling at the edge of the legal speed limit, so that gives me rights to use the fast lane".. why can't we all agree on "Fast lane is meant for overtaking"?

On a local 3 lane highway, I often find the slow lane is less congested compare to the fast lane.. I'm sure I'm not alone.

Perhaps we should all start referring the right-most lane as the "overtaking lane" instead of the "fast lane" when we talk to other drivers. "Fast lane" to many drivers can be interpreted as "as long as I am as fast as the speed limit, or faster, I can use it"

Let's begin educating other drivers by referring to the lane as it is meant to be used - to overtake only.
