This weekend im going to change my rear axle (final drive) oil (e39 528i 97) . My question is, what type of oil shold i use. Some says 80/90, some says 140. Im very concerm since there is an experience if we do not use the right oil, the axle my make a noise sound after changing the oil? Anybody has experience on this. Pls advice.Thank u.

Rear axle oil does not consume a lot. If I were u, I will return to BMW service center and get their "LifeTime" oil.. I think can kao tim in less than RM200.. call them up and find out la. Even if it cost you RM250, still I think its worth it.. u get another "LifeTime" mann.. :rock:
Can try Ingress Auto too at LDP, Mutiara Damansara. They try to call themselves the ambassador of BMW. As long as its a BMW, they accept!
