Power window switch

Anybody encountered this problem b4 , the power window switch does not activate the auto up/down of the windows when pressed...it was working fine until yesterday. So is the switch the problem or something else? All sifus input on this matter is very much appreciated. My one is E34 no vanos and no spare tyre. XXX

my one e34 also same, esp. the back two windows! front two windows no problem. i heard this is e34 normal problem. any idea?

afaik...only the 2 front windows has the auto up/down function, no?

The auto down and up only works for the drivers side window only. The rest does not have auto mode, you have to keep your fingers pressed on the button. Well that was the case for my previous E34 la.

it's a relay fault.
i'm not sure where the relays are for e34s, as it changes from the m20 to the m50 engines.
another way to confirm if its the relay from the switch pack is to try another working switch pack, if it does work, possibly the connections in the switch itself is faulty/no contact/loose

or you could get an external module the one i have in my e30 both drivers and passenger auto .....abathen again you were too busy spinning the car to notice anything in it...... !!

Hope you trace the problem and share.
Seniors, you mentioned there is auto up/ down on the e34's pwr window , how are this controlled, at the switch or at the window motors...the questions is can or how would i transfer this to e30?
Sorry i hope not hijack, as same topic of pwer window
