Hi All,I'm new here and I own a 5 month old 320i.Went for the free safety check last weekend and guess what? They found a teeny leak at the power steering pump. What's that? I know nothing bout cars , by the way.Any suggestions, any comments most welcome. Where is the best place to get it repaired? I've heard so many stories bout the service centres exchanging your new parts for old and the car will keep breaking down after the service.Any comments? Thanks All.Lynn

Get it repair under warranty for a 5 months old car or (you own it for 5 months)

Try to tighten the bolts first. If it does not stop the leak, change the oil seal.

Clean the pump after the work have been carried to check for fresh leak or the source of the leak.

Thanks Jarrance!! :)

Yes i will get it repaired under warranty, probably bringing it to quill.

Anything I should watch out for?

They should use the ATF fluid when adding back the lost power steering fluid and make sure the hoses are properly installed. Mine leaked before but it was due to the cracked hose and not the pump itself

Ooo... E90 kaki!

Yes Lynn, all your problems for the first 24 months or 60k km which ever comes first, will be taken cared of by any BMW authorised Service Center. After repair job, these service centers will claim BMW Malaysia for reimbursement for their labour and materials cost.

Good luck! and please update us once you sorted out your leaks, we interested to know what went wrong for such a new car and it can happen to us anytime.

By the way, did u do proper run in of the car for its first 2k km, by not driving above 3k rpm? Power steering is one component that requires run in..

Thanks people, you guys are a resourceful lot!!!

Nope, did not hit anything. But..... the roads in KL is full of craters. Went down a few.

By the way, i don drive fast even " provoked" at traffic lights.

Don think i ever drive above 3k RPM.

just sent to nearest authorize dealer and replace the necessary part related..if your car still under warranty all FOC..
