Anyone know whether there are any porsches available for rental in Malaysia? It would be a great if we had such service availabe in Malaysia. A friend of mine actually rented a Porsche in Germany on his holiday and drove to various destinations and even visited the Porsche factory. (Care to share ur experience if u happen to be reading this thread?) Anyway Langkawi would be a perfect place for such an activity. You could rent a luxury car there and drive yourself around esp since the operator could get a 911 for 500k wherelse it would be 1m in the peninsular. Hmmm!

there was a time share club located in PJ not long ago but the difference was it time shared cars instead of Apartments. There was a Ferrari 355 a Porsche Boxster and a Merc 300 SL Covertible to be shared amongst its members with more to be added when membesrship grew but sadly with the Malaysian mentality it did not last long bcos most of the time the cars when out and never came back...all went straight to the workshop not due to engine failure or anything like that but due to crashes bcos everybody thought just bcos its a sports car it can defy the law of physics...

Thought their own driver put it into the workshop ... they also thought it would defy physics ..

if you are talking abt the Ferrari it was not their own driver it was the Caterham Boss who whacked the Sin Chew Wall. How I know ...I was behind in the Boxster.

Problem here is that there're not many people here who have the mindset of responsibility in handling a car of this type. The general attitude is "Wah, Porsche! Sure can gasak one!"

There was a TV series called "Automan" some time ago. I guess some people still believe that a car can corner at 90 degrees...

Some people never learn Physics in high school, what do you expect? I recalled an NBA player killed himself in his spanking new Porsche while coming out from sports arena vicinity.

Maybe law of Physics is just another hoax or urban legend started by Isaac Newton some hundred years ago.

I guess the answer would be none in Msia, so whats the next best alternative?

Germany may be too expensive.

Driving holiday in Australia?

Even if Langkawi has those super cars for rent, don't think it will be sensible to rent those cars as there is not enough roads to run them on. You'll be driving along at the same speed as the beat up kancil next to you.

anxious, you can try Naza groupo of companies. They rent out cars, mostly with drivers - Bentleys, Mercs, Maserati, etc. I believe they would have Porsches, as they sell these cars as well. Their rental company is locared in KL.

Thats the one next to Bombay Palace on Tun Razak, isnt it? But they have loads of the new S-Class...and all are chauffer driven.

Would be a pity to be chauffered in a MAserati...those cars are meant to be driven, not driven in.

Oh well..........

The rentals don't come cheap, but cheaper than owning one. If you are really into exotics, rent a car from the highly exclusive club in the Las Vegas desert. They have all the cars plus have booked cars that are not out yet. Saw it on Ch78.

Does the company have driver vacancies for weekend? Do they require the drivers to be free of summons and their super cars too?

Yes, its available down under and in quite a veriety too. I got this organised for a group of M'sian 'yuppies' who were treated to this special experience. My client (sponsor for the group) wanted something very different, self indulgent soft adventure. we managed to put together 10 exotic cars Honda s2000, M3, Z3, Porche 996, Ferrari 360 Spider and a Audi TT. We used Holden Commodores V8s for marshalls and pace car. It was an awesome sight and everywhere we went heads turned and the ladies we passed always gave a cheeky smile.

....after what happened the other day , where one of their cars crashed and killed its occupants ...they are definetely going to scrutinise who they hire as drivers..so unless you are 40 and above the chances are slim...heheheh
