It's not to say that it's problematic, but obviously if you're considering a 2nd hand car, then everything boils down to your luck and how meticulous you were when you selected the car. A 10 yr old BMW would be no less troublesome than a 10 yr old Honda or Toyota. But obviously, a new Honda or Toyota would generally give less problems than a 10 yr old BMW. That said, you do need deep pockets if you're getting a 2nd hand car. Cuz even if car is well maintained, depending on the mileage certain items would be due for replacement anyway. And yes, BMW parts are not cheap!!! As for power, if you love to drive hard, then 325 is for you. Definitely the power is there. But fuel saving? No lar.... that's contradictory. You want power and drive hard, you sacrifice fuel efficiency in the process. So good luck bro. Remember, you yourself know your own situation best. This is a car, which can ONLY be classified as a hobby and NOT an investment as it will only depreciate. So you shouldn't kill yourself over it. Only if you're sure you have the excess dough to maintain the car, then go ahead. How much you need to maintain the car? Well, aside from about RM5-10K for initial service after you get the car, usual maintenance cost me about average RM2K/year (including the normal wear-and-tear replacements, most recent was the alternator at RM1.4K)
