Lately had the petrol smell when cold starting the engine. so sent to Optimum Automotive for check-up.Slight leakage in the fuel line leading to fuel filter, so changed rubber hoses and clips. Work confined to area under engine bay after car was hoisted up.6 clips@$4.80 and 2 rubber hoses + labour came to $92. The hoses and clips on the fuel tank (after removing the back seat) were fine on the left and right sides.Every now and then, there's this gurgling sound on the rear left, though the E36 starts up just fine. Fuel pump had been changed at the start of 2005. Some forummers say this could be sign of impending fuel pump failure. Is that so?And Optimum owner Foo says oil filter should last the distance if used with synthetic engine oil (8000km to 10,000km). No need to change oil filter midway...Whatdya think?BTW, the man says he will be able to accept credit card by July, if not sooner.
