OIL FILTER REPLACEMENT DIY for 320D (N47) 2010 Manufact This DIY is getting interesting by the day.. as i was doing preventive maintenance today, a delivery (kangroo) uncle came by to deliver a parcle to me.. to my surprise he said, 'why is the car tilted to one side?' (kenapa kereta chongget sebelah?) upon observing, he said, 'lots of mechanics will be out of job like this!!'(abis laa mekanik tak bole cari makan macam ni!!) I am replacing my oil filter every 5km mileage.. so this is a write-up for this purpose.. enjoy bros and sis :4: First, locate your engine oil fiter cap.. it should be located under you engine cover, passenger side.. Cover the lower side of the oil filter cap with cloth, newspaper or any rags.. Why? cause you will have some oil spills upon removing the cap + filter later.. Then use a 28mm socket with ratchet to loosen the oil filter cap.. always remember 'ANTI-CLOCKWISE' to loosen.. the oil filter cap should be relatively easy to loosen.. so, remember to over tightened when placing them back on.. Once loosen, quickly remove the oil filter cap + filter.. Now, pull the old oil filter from the cap and replace it with a new one.. Replace the old O-Ring on the oil filter cap too.. once replaced, lubricate the O-Ring with some engine oil.. Finally, place back the oil filter cap + new filter + new O-Ring.. Now, turn the cap 'CLOCKWISE' to tightened.. Yeeeeeehaaaa.. now you have fresh oil filter in your engine:top: happy motoring guys & gals :4: this is you engine cover.. need to remove them.. now, with the engine cover removed.. covering the bottom half with newspaper to ensure no oil spills onto engine bay.. use a 28mm socket + adapter + ratchet to loosen the oil filter cap.. observe how darkened the oil filter is at 5km mileage.. crazy.. new oil filter on the oil filter cap.. notice the 'extended' part underneath the oil filter.. its a guide thingy to ensure the filter seats properly in its housing..
