paint workshop recommendation

Hi guys, just wondering if someone can share good place to do whole car body paint and good price too. Read a thread once abput fellow BMWCM member repaint his ride but cant seems to remember the thread.

How much did you pay bro and how long did you wait for? What colour? Better choose a good workshop as one of my friend's car paint is about a year old and his hood is fading pretty badly =S

My bumper and fender repair cost me RM500 after nego as regular. 2 days job. Quoted 2600 for whole car. Feast your eyes with all the exotics cars at his place.

There is a bodyworks/paint shop behind Jalan Ipoh/Jalan Pahang ( Right behind Hotel Grand Seasons ) . Alwyas seems full. I have done jobs there with my previous ride.

RM2,600 is a pretty good deal considering the car comes out looking pristine, Astronyu should check this place out

I used Soo Seng in Batu Caves, they did a good job, but they're certainly not one of the cheaper ones in the market.

Will send my car for re-painting, since got scratches on door and damage on skirt, need to left there for 4 days...

Need some advise here. What type of paint used by BMW? Typically local paint shop will use 2K paint or higher end like Glasurit. If I want to paint one side (3 panels) of car due to scratch, I have been quoted RM660 for 2k paint at one of the paint shop and another paint shop quote 1k for Glasurit. Will original paint match those 2K or Glasurit?

Yes, I wanted to know too, mine is grey e60, was quoted RM2,000.00 for front bonnet, right side full panel and front full bumper only, I think a bit expensive right? But not sure which paint they use...

it all depends on the painter that does then job and how well he's able to mix and blend the paint mixture to suit your car with the current paint ...if the painter is going to use paint directly from the colour code, chances are you may get some discolouration after some time, whereby you're able to see the new painted panel VS the older paint ....

so need to be aware of this matter and the ability of the painter ...

RM2,600 for whole car or certain panels?

Front bonnet, front bumper, right side whole panel (fender part, 2doors, rear part & skirt), and right side skirts (inclusive mangat), rear screen rubber seal and whole car polish. The paint will spray 1 layer base line grey color, not sure how many layer on top and "cook" with oven, hahah...

Both my cars are repainted with George and I believe a few E38 members here also go their rides painted with George. Good and fair priced. But you need to give him time.
