thanks Jwah for sharing such a wonderful thread

This is the most talk over coating from USA to Australia, but that doesnt mean bullet proof....the most

there are 2 types of opti coat - Opti coat 1.0 aka opti guard (the professional version) as Opti coat 2.0 pro consumer version (we does retail it) but have not use in any of our detail (work)

The Difference

Opti coat 2.0 (is a pro consumer version) need 12 hours curing, cant apply on glass

where as OPTI COAT is instant curing (within 30 minutes) can be apply on Glass, Windows, Exhaust, Chrome parts, Calipers as high temperature resisting, More resisting chemical after 30 minutes applications. therefore it is only given to qualify and trained detailers.the founder himself would assess our work prior releasing and appointing us as sole distributor in Malaysia.

It is just a part of the whole process..... *10% of the total 90% prep work....*

Above all the most important part of the entire process is maintenance - your weekly car wash.....is done by road side?

look at the many newly delivered bimmers, not even on the road running but plenty of defects

Holograms visible to show it has been polish prior handling to the owner

That's is he reason I reckon every new car buyer must collect their car at noon and check carefully under the sun

Eg another F30 328 we detail last week

Inspire of the owner instruction to BMW dealer "not to wash or wax the car at delivery "

Rids swirls and worst of all birds dropping!!!! Which caused along the journey into our land, from shipment and storage yard !!!!! Making it worst the people who handle it

Water spots has stains/damage the entire car paint and all glasses only to show it has been kept at open air and neglected !!! Therefore a quick polish would be the remedy but in the wrong hands is vey damaging ! Of such in the 4th picture shown the holograms (improper way of handling the paint correction ) and now become a threat

I just restore a Balboni with Seech for almost 24 hours of correction

before

after

nope ..... here is the review after http://thedetailers.blogspot.com/2012_02_12_archive.html

i do encourage you to try but bear in mind this is permanent coating, it can only be removed by wet sanding or multiper compound (how then do you gauge how much to removed) I got a friend who did 5 coating test on his e90 bimmer ended up repainting the entire car

We get a lot of people trying to fix their own dents which in turn makes more work for the body shop professional but allows them to also charge more for the repair. Opti-Coat is designed to create work for pros, not take it away and it will do just that.

There are thousands of leaf blowers and mowers sold every year but not everyone who buys them is planning on starting a lawn care business nor has it seemed to hurt the professional lawn care field.

while an informed enthusiast may apply the 2.0 him or herself the area of paint correction may be another story, the sad thing is this

BUT.......

we've organised tons of clinic in training car onwers or enthusiast equiping them the skill to do it

infact this sat both me and seech will be conducting an intense class for paint corrections and coating....

we conducted and exposed to more thousand enthusiast and even show you our secrets of how to do (empowering you to coat your own car

it is easier to remove if you use Alien Clean as is has the (opti coat 1.0 professional aka opti-guards ) strength to resist

http://thedetailers.blogspot.com/2012_02_19_archive.html

you only need Alien Clean dilute 1:3 water wash it off

by the way my E34 is not coated at all but still effortless to maintain http://www.bmwclubmalaysia.com/forums/showthread.php?49413-How-to-keep-your-white-bimmer-white
