i have a deal with a singapore forum guy. wanted to bring in the rim from singapore. but was told from my friends that i will have issue / problem with singapore custom police officer if i bring in the 4 pieces rim. i want to keep my stock rim therefore i be going over to bring in the 4 pieces rim back to jb this weekends. will i have any problem for this? is it illegal as wat my friends told me? anyone have tis experience to go over sg and bring back the rim there before? please share with me what the issue like?? i don wan end up troublesome wit the police there when exit back to jb for rim problem (the rim come together with tyres). anyone?

I bring in my M5 rims + tyres from SG last time. But i bring two pcs each time. Sg custom will not stop u but M'sia custom will do. As you know M'sia custom, they pick up the car to check randomly, so it is depends on your luck.

You could try and arrange with some friends over there who could probably bring it in 1 or 2 at a time.If it's a Sg registered car, better still.yeah,it really depends on your luck. Many a time I've got some expensive racing leather suits, helmets, boots and other bike stuffs which are bulky and not something you can hide under the seat and so far so good,I've not been stopped and taxed.

Now I know it's not right for me to be telling you how to go illegal but what the heck.It won't be a bad idea to get some kind of reciept with 1/3 the actual price too coz if and when you do get stopped by our customs you could always declare that was the price you paid. But be careful not to under price it too much. It's just a suggestion bro so take it with a pinch of salt.

take out your spare wheel from the boot before going to singapore. put your new rim in the spare tire spot. then drive back to m'sia. depending how many cars u got can do in 1 trip or 4, up to you.

bro tats exactly wat i've been thinking. but than again heck its so troublesome to do tat repeatedly.i try ask the singapore seller to faked the rim price to me. tat way no worry kena tax in msia. any idea how the taxes like?

Ha.. Spare tires to smuggle rims.. Good idea. Never thought of that.. but have to make 4 trips.

Unless you are staying in JB or working in Spare, it is not worth it to travel in and out.

Better to just bring 4 rims and pay the "duties" lah.

No, the custom didnt stop me when i carry 2 pcs of rim.

If you wanna keep your existing rims, one other way out is to get one set of "cheap" steel rims with tyres which you don't mind leaving in Singapore. Then mount up your new rims and tyres wor. Well, you would have to spend on a set of rims and of course other drivers would be looking at you wor, E60 with a set of old steel rims.... driving down to Singapore.
