Guys, I need to get this "Front Aggregate Protective Plate" for my E36 318i, by hook or by crook "refer to http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?model=CB32&mospid=47444&btnr=51_2218&hg=51&fg=75". The car came standard without the protective plate. I was told only 325i and 328i have this plate as standard. Recently, my beltings are making noises again, especially in the morning. Sometimes I need to travel to places where the roads are untarred. The sands and mud are getting into my beltings and pulley, making the lifespan shorter. 1st option is to get from a chop shop, which I know it is hard to come by. But anyone here bought this thing from any chop shop before? What's the price? 2nd option, if 1st option is not available, is to get a new unit from either First Division or Bavarian Auto. Perhaps if we could organise a group purchase, it could be cheaper? Or alternatively, anyone here custom make this plate? Maybe using carbon fibre or something. Need some input and discussion on this thread again. I am sure many of us here are facing this problem. Don't wanna waste money changing belts every now and then.
