Newbie Here...BMW 316 1982

Hi All, just got myself a 1982 BMW 316 model. As a matter of fact, I just drove it from East Coast to Shah Alam and arrived in one piece... The car engine went dead a few times when idle or stop. I hope its a good buy though. anyway managed to reach 120kmph today..my first ride and bit scarry..It's a 316 manual (guess no auto yet) model fully imported from EU. Its engine capacity is 1766 cc.This is my first BMW, thus need many help from beemer enthusiast/experts. For a start, i wanna check/overhaul the engine and perhaps some1 could give me few workshop that could do it at a reasonable price.Best ReagrdsAyon

I guess so. Just went to a workshop today and the mechanics said it's a model before e30.
Me myself not familiar with the BeeMer jargon.
Anyway, it's 2 door with only 2 headlights ie not the 4 headlights model.

So far the engine is stabled after some fine tuning at a wshop in Shah Alam...the vacuum hose to carb is leaking.
