Hello all,I hope this message correctly gets posted in the newbie section as intended. It's a pleasure to join this exciting club/forum. I'm looking forward to meeting everyone and learning more about UDMs from all the experts and enthusiasts. As you can imagine I am going to need a lot of advice. I have gone through the forum quite a bit and found answers to a lot of my questions. But I have plenty more to ask in my future posts! Hope you guys will be able to help.

Thanks Jarance, I'm in New York now.

You may have a point about the smg transmission issues. Although the discussions in this forum have generally agreed the smg is problem free, I noted that a few 325i SMGs on sale here and at other sites list "new smg gearbox" as one of their selling points. To me that suggests that at one point the SMG goes kaput and needs to be replaced, and that's a situation nobody wants to be in.

Is there a thread here that discusses the gremlins that come with the SMG? But how much more reliable is the more common auto (steptronic?) gearbox compared to the SMG? I'd appreciate your input on this. Thanks man.

hey there ...welcome

can load some stuff for me when you come back here ??

Iceman, I could do that, as long as its something small.

As you can imagine since I'll be relocating when I come back I'll be transporting everything from the grand piano to the kitchen sink. Space for additional stuff will be limited. However, if your "stuff" is of reasonable size, and gets shipped to my residence here and doesnt require me to go out and get it, I'd be happy do what I can to help. Send me the details so we can figure out if its feasible to do this.

here got a lot sifu.................:listen:
