Message: <blockquote data-quote="Terri" data-source="post: 345147" data-attributes="member: 16448">Thanks jarance but no.... its not close to the engine .... but right up against the wall of the engine compartment behind the ABS pump i think .... i'm inclined to think wlvrn is right and it's most likely a brake hose of some sort (yikes) .......i think i really have to send the car in for inspection to check all the hoses.... because the ones i can already see are in bad shape and i'm really worried about all the other hoses that i cannot see.......i am abit disappointed with my mechanic's worker because i asked him to check all the hoses and he said they were all ok ..... but they obviously aren't .... (in the old days mechanics used to check the car while they were fixing it - nowadays they just want to fix what is obviously wrong and cannot be bothered to check anything else ....  i suppose the more cars they fix the more money they earn so they don't want to waste any more time than they have to ....)with a car this old, i need to follow the advice of the members here and take some preventive measures before i breakdown on some dark road just because a hose failed .....</blockquote>
