The valet key can ONLY open the driver door and can start the car.It cannot open the boot lock and the glove compartment lock. This is the security design of the BMW. If you have something valuable in your boot, you can lock the boot with your normal key by turning the lock to horizontal position. This will disable the "boot switch open" inside the car. When you pass the valet key to the car jockey, they can park the car and lock the door manually but they will not be able to open the boot with the valet key.</blockquote>
